Cover Song

When I first read the assignment and saw the word cover song, Sweet Dreams (Are Made of These) immediately came to mind. The original version was done by the Eurythmics and was redone by Marilyn Manson a few years ago. Manson's version is much much darker sounding. Towards the end, he even starts to scream the lyrics. While the original seems very dark with its lyrics as well, "Some of them want to abuse you/Some of them want to be abused," Manson's voice is haunting and the music just makes you feel like you should be doing something you aren't supposed to.
